Black and white studio portrait of a man in a dark suit jacket, Kelly Corder photography.

I'm a photographer based in Campbell River. I grew up on the prairies between Saskatoon and Edmonton before moving to Vancouver Island.

Photography started early. My mother always kept a point-and-shoot nearby, and I picked it up often — an instinct for building a story out of pictures that started with her. My grandfather kept a darkroom and was a capable photographer in his own right; watching him work left an early, lasting impression. I'm entirely self-taught, shooting both film and digital across night sky, architecture, fine art, and portrait work. I worked in galleries, and later ran a marketing company representing local Vancouver Island artists — watching their conviction to their own stories gave me the courage to start expressing my own ideas through images.

Most of that work now happens across Vancouver Island and the BC coast.

I’m available for collaborative, commission, and project work.
